Inspiring a generation to inquire, interact and get involved with science, MythBusters uses a signature brand of explosive experimentation to prove or disprove popular myths, misconceptions or legends. In 2016, after 2,950 experiments, 910 explosions and 133 kilometres of duct tape, original hosts Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage hung up their lab coats and bowed out with a boom.
But with a myriad of myths still to be tested, Discovery put the call out to find a new set of hosts to take the lead on putting tall tales and urban legends to the test. Enter Jon Lung and Brian Louden – the winners of MythBusters: The Search - who are bringing the art of busting myths back with spectacular style.
As the new series kicks off, some of the tests Brian and Jon conduct are whether the jets of a fountain can lift and suspend someone floating in an inflatable ring, and recreate a dangerous and spectacular Bruce Willis movie stunt with shattering results and more.
From putting an exploding airbag to the ultimate test, investigating if a water-heater can turn into a destructive torpedo, and finding out whether dog owners really do resemble their beloved pets, this season does not fail to satisfy the various doubts and curiosities about our fascinating world.
